  We rented a car about a month ago and now received an invoice asking us to pay around 250$ for a break in the windshield that was already there before !!!!!!! We notice it quickly as it was an obvious break in front of the driver but we thought that logicaly they knew about it. What is our surprise now to see this money withdraw from our bank account : UNBELIEVABLE and SCANDALOUS !!!!!!

  Don't hire in this place. I rent a car few weeks ago. There was a scratch on the windshield at the beginning, so obvious that we didn't even mention it, thinking it must has already been reported. 1 month after we give the car back, we had a payment of 250$ taken directly on our bank account. Obviously we are not the first one, they don't even fix the windshield and make everyone who are not vigilent to pay for it. Scandalous! I manage a big community of tourist in Australia and they can be sure every new tourist going to Darwin will be aware of these scandalous methods

  The cars are good, but other rental companies don't charge a deposit (meant to be a hold on a credit card, but in reality I have had deducted twice) so I tend to avoid Europcar unless there is a significant cost saving.

  Very good operators. Hired near new Rav4 and Outlander and no issues with either vehicle.

  we hired different cars during our stay in Darwin from Europcar. The first vehicle was fine, but much to our surprise it was down hill from there. firstly we did bring to their attention that the cars were dirty inside and that we had to pull over to a service station and wash the inside front screen. Secondly, on hiring another 3 different vehicles from them on different days we also brought to the attention damage & scratches on a particular vehicle and was told by the Irish lady serving us that they were aware of the damage -" no worries- no problem ÏTS OK"!!!. At no time was any paper work filled out or given to us indicating the condition of the cars on hiring. WHAT A MISTAKE !! after a few days after leaving Darwin and moving on to our next destination we were informed by europcar that there was damage to the last vehicle ( dropped off at 6.00am Darwin airport) and we were liable for $550.00 costs. we have emailed twice requesting photographs of the alleged damage with no reply. They have now deducted $605.00 incl gst from our credit card ! Not happy ! We would like proof of the damage and intend on fighting this claim. So needless to say we will not use EUROPCAR again or recommend to anyone.
